Engine 17-1


1993 KME

Engine 17-1 was purchased new by the Nittany Valley Volunteer Fire Company in 1993. This piece serves as our primary attack piece and is first out on any type of fire, with the exception of wildfires, and second out on vehicle accidents. 17-1 can be ran as a Tanker if needed. The Engine is equipped with the following (brief listing):

E17-1 is equipped with a Clinton County VHF - Mobile and Portable as well as a 800 MHz Centre County Portable. This piece is Engine 9810 in Centre County. E17-1 is capable of seating a crew of 6 personnel.

 
 
Engine/Tanker 17-4


2001 International/Emergency One

This piece was purchased new in 2001 by the Nittany Valley Volunteer Fire Company from Kaza Fire Equipment based out of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. Tanker 17-4 serves as the second out piece on any fire, can be operated as an Engine if need be, and is the third piece out on a vehicle accident. The Tanker is equipped with the following (brief listing):

- 1,250 GPM Hale Pump
- 1,250 Gallon Water Tank
- 10" Newton Dump Valve
- 600' 1-3/4" Hose
- 400' 2-1/2" Hose
- 2,000 Gallon Porta-Tank
- Forceable Entry Tools
- 2 Portable Pumps
- 2 Scott NGX2 SCBA
- Hazardous Materials Supplies
- Traffic Control Devices
- Assortment of Fittings, Adapters, Wrenches
- Foam PRO-PACK

T17-4 is equipped with a Clinton County VHF - Fire Mobile, Portable and a Centre County 800 MHz Mobile Radio. This unit is known as Tanker 9819 in Centre County. 17-4 is capable of carrying a crew of 3.

 
 
Rescue/QRS 17-62


2003 Ford F-550/LifeStar Rescue

The Nittany Valley Volunteer Fire Company purchased 17-62 as a Demo unit from Lifestar Rescue based out of Van Wert, Ohio in 2004. Rescue 17-62 is by far our most used piece of our whole fleet, being the first piece out on Medical assists and Vehicle Accidents. The Rescue is equipped with the following (brief listing):

- Recognized as a State certified Quick Response Service (QRS)
- Medical Supplies
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
- Vehicle Stabilization (High Lift Jacks, Struts, etc.)
- HURST Portable Simo Pump
- HURST Combi-Tool

- HURST Airbags (capable of holding 60 tons all together)
- Assortment of Cribbing
- Various Hand Tools

- Traffic Control Devices (light sticks, electric and regular flares)

- 10 work lights
- 3 NGX2 SCBA Cylinders

R17-62 is equipped with all LED lighting with the exception of the Lightbar, and has a Clinton County VHF - Fire Mobile, VHF - Fire Portable, a MED Portable, and a 800 MHz Centre County Portable. This unit is known as 9823 in Centre County. 17-62 is capable of holding a crew of 5 personnel.

 
 
Brush 17-10


1986 Chevrolet 4x4 "The Brush Buggy"

Brush 17-10 is a 1986 Chevrolet 1 Ton Pick-Up Truck. This unit was aquired in 2006 in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, replacing our 1977 Dodge. Brush 17-10 serves as the first due piece on any wildfire, and used for Search & Rescue as well as various different calls. 17-10 is equipped with the following (brief listing):

- 330 GWT
- 25 GPM Pump
- 2 Steil Chainsaws
- 1 Backpack Leafblower
- 1 Regular Leafblower
- Bladder Bags
- Assortment of Wildland Firefighting Rakes and Shovels
- Hard Helmets

B17-10 is equipped with a Clinton County VHF - Mobile and Portable. This unit is known as Brush 9825 in Centre County. 17-10 is capable of seating a crew of 3 personnel.

 
 
Utility 17-20


1986 Chevrolet Blazer 4x4

Utility 17-20 was aquired in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in 2006. 17-20 is primarily used to transport manpower to and from scenes, as well as transporting personnel to training sessions.

It is equipped with an assortment of Forestry equipment and is set up to provide traffic control. It also runs as a QRS when 17-62 is not available or is out of service.

U17-20 is equipped with a Clinton County VHF - Mobile and Portable. This unit is known as Utility 9836 in Centre County. 17-20 is capable of seating a crew of 5 personnel.
